There are more than 50 rivers with lengths over 2000 km. Only 3 rivers exceed 6000 km in length and only 2 are more than 5000 km long.

The world lake is generally used to describe slow-moving or standing water occupying an island basin. Some large lakes containing salt water are referred to as seas viz. the Dead Sea and the Caspian Sea.The word sea is also used to name areas of water around the margins of the oceans.
